New ideas leading to new products and services

Companies have been dealing with innovation management for many years, with the objective to improve their products, services and processes in a structured way through the generation, development and realization of ideas. Promoting the development of new ideas within the company is the most difficult task. Creativity can’t be prescribed. It requires the right employees in the right environment. But the development of new ideas alone is not enough. Lucrative ones have to be identified and developed into marketable products.

The relationship of innovation management and change management

The requirements for successful innovation management are the same as for successful change management: open discussion on current situation and on future challenges as well as the company’s readiness for change. Innovation has to be supported by all affected employees, from the idea, to its development and implementation.

Some necessary requirements:

  • a company culture embracing new ideas and changes,
  • a clearly organized, communicated and lived process for creative ideas and the implementation of change,
  • employees that actively analyse and deal with market and customer requirements and
  • employees who look for creative ideas and company-wide solutions.

There are people who only turn creative when trying to prevent an innovation.
